Three kings-magi day (Dia de Reis) is held in Spain on January 6th and it is the most favorite holiday for all Spanish children. In the morning they find in their boots the gifts which they have requested in the letter to the three kings.
And in the evening before – on January 5th – Three kings parade, or Cavalcade of Magi is held everywhere in Spain. In Barcelona it looks in such way: on the spectacular ships the kings sail to the port, where they are greeted by the mayor of the city with thousands of guests, and then the bright costumed procession moves along the central streets of the city: the kings’ helpers run at the beginning of the procession, picking letters from children, and behind them three kings sit in their coaches, generously giving candies to everybody around.
After the parade, each family has a festive table with the mandatory kings’ cake Roscón de Reyes – a huge sweet ring, covered with candied fruits.
