Kiel Week (Kieler Woche) is the most famous sailing event in Europe. It has been held annually for more than 100 years in Kiel – Germany’s main port, located on the banks of the Kiel bay in the Baltic Sea.
The main event of Kiel Week – Sailboats regatta, which is visited each year by thousands of sailors – the participants of the regatta with 2,000 ships and by more than 3 million guests!
Kiel Week ends with yet another spectacular maritime event, called the Parade of tall ships. It brings together more than a hundred sailing ships of huge tonnage, impressing in their size and mightiness.
Apart the main marine theme, totally The Kiel Week is a summer event with music festivals, gastronomy, fairs and other entertainments, accompanying Volksfests in Germany.
