Italian small sea town Fano is famous for exceptional variety of seafood and all sorts of culinary delicacies, cooked of it.
International Festival of Brodetto and fish soup (ital. Festival internazionale del brodetto e delle zuppe di pesce) offers the guests to taste one of the main and the most famous delicacies of the Mediterranean fishing town: very fragrant and thick fish soup of white fish with shrimps, mussels, squids and other very tasty seafood – Brodetto di pesce.
Originally brodetto was a simple meal of poor fishermen who cooked it of small fish, which was difficult to be sold. If there was not enough of such fish they added in the soup everything that arrived in the fishing net up to seaweed.
At present Brodetto – a restaurant dish of the best Italian chefs who will participate in cooking brodetto competition. They will cook soup right on the beach in dozens of pavilions where guests of the festival can taste it with the local white wines.
At the festival there will be held also master-classes and cooking shows, and in the evening on the beach in the open air – musical concerts and parties.
