Each year, more than 700 years, Prague has celebrated the Bohemian Carnival dedicated to farewell to winter. Initially, the Carnival was organised by aristocrats of the western part of the Czech Republic, historically known as Bohemia, and now it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world.

Carnival costumed parade, masquerades, Czech songs, dances, acrobats, jugglers, clowns, competition for the best carnival mask, fashion show in the central square, fairs of souvenirs and sweets, fireworks – all this colorful and noisy carnival show reigns in all the streets and squares of Prague‘s center.

Following the popular carnival traditions, street feasts offer guests a huge amount and variety of Czech food and drinks – fried sausages with sauerkraut, knedliky, famous trdelnik and of course – Czech beer.
